Anyone tried these guys ?

https://www.easiwise.co.za

I get the feeling they're the same company as Geyserwise?

But what I like about these guys is app control ...

EDIT : Doesn't seem an app - purely remote ...

I dropped them a mail, but only after 17.00

Couldn't see much on the web
Another company that feels that their pricing needs to be kept a top secret from their potential customers.

Normally an indication that its over priced and better value can be found elsewhere. I just normally skip a website if there is no price specified and find something similar.

GeyserWise has an Internet module using either GPRS with a sim card and annual access fee or the WiFi unit that connects to your home network and no annual fee.

I wonder if that site is adding VAT?

Geyserwise themselves mentioned R2.4k ex VAT and no screen. Add those in and you are approaching R3.5k.

I'd love to remote in... But not at that premium.

I'm going to try Shelly soon and give it a go

No idea if they are adding in vat.

I also found another system called Aquatica. Its a US company and sells on their website for $149. Not sure how compatible it will be with our geysers. It has some nice monitoring features and a learning feature where it monitors your hot water usage and then sets the geyser accordingly but it will not work on a solar system or heat pump.

Reviving this, were you able to ever find an alternative to the geyser wise?

I have the non wifi geyser wise unit, and not really willing to replace it for 3k for wifi unit

You could always use a Sonoff TH16 with probe (+-R600) with a 40amp relay to control and monitor your geysers. I have mine setup to run through Hassio with automations to turn on once a day and turn off when temp is reached. Plus you can monitor your geyser temp and turn it on or off from anywhere in the world.

Do you mind sharing where did the Probe go and how did you wire if you don't mind me asking?
