Hey guys,
We are starting/have started a wireless mesh network in East London,
We currently have 6 nodes and are covering a fair area.
If anybody is interested in joining then please let me know as we want to get this running and the more the merrier!

Either post or PM me if you are keen and i can let you know what you would need equipment wise and we can also test to see if you have signal.

We are also able to see certain parts of Gonubie

Good for you Rocket-Boy. Good luck and I'm sure you know that you will get support from DWC and i'm sure the rest of the WUGs.

keep it up

Thanks skydog,
Im just trying to get some other people involved, a community network isnt really a community network minus the people!! but its getting started and we have some good locations with highsites already set up.

Just need to find some more geeks!

You have Jawug's support Rocket-Boy... Come chat in IRC if u have any questions... We have certain tools which may assist you to get things rolling...

Can I join ? or is my node already counted ?

I think i might be able to get L.O.S. to W1z4rd's spot from my pad. If i put a sector up i should be able to get a couple of people from Vincent heights all round to blue bend.

again, equipment & testing is the main issue. but Rocket-Boy and the guys are far more experienced at it than me, so give em your support, it can only become alot more kief.

Is there a high sight in beacon bay?

Hey Dave, Yeah there is one up near beaconhurt at my place and there is a er... lowsite? running near the country club.
You might also be able to see skyways from where you are. Where abouts are you?

How much will it cost?

Its dependant on where you are, but its probably going to be in the range of R650 for a router, R100 for pigtails and connectors and depending on which antenna you would need it would be between R350 and R600.
If however you are lucky enought to be in a signal area you might get away with as little as R300.
Where abouts are you?

What are the possibilities of hooking up some of the Aerosat customers using their equipment to form part of the wug ? Or is that against aerosat policy and whatnot ?

56kDude, where abouts are you anyway?

hey i'm super keen for this! but not sure if i'll get signal tho :( in Dorchester Heights...

I'm keen...

I'm in the Selborne/Vincent area...would we have coverage there? Also what are the setup costs?

Bonnie Doon and Dochester heights should be able to connect to some of us, you guys should try and connect to each other too, see what you can get going!

Selborne might be able to see skyways in southernwood...
