Easy Equities good or bad?

So, people selling once the D-day has come and gone? How does it work? Do companies pay dividends based on who was holding shares till yesterday?

Yes. The order normally goes:

End of quarter.
Results released.
Dividend dates set (day share needs to be held and payment date).
Day that shares need to be held for dividend.
First day of trading 'ex-dividend'.
Dividend paid out.

Not necessarily frenzy to sell, the share has just gone ex-dividend and price drops accordingly
well, I meant that there is no point in holding now (if dividend was the reason) so I understand why people are selling in droves. Especially if people bought it at less than current low price so as to maximize the benefit. I think few people just dropped a bucket at open. 15 million value already.

What do people think of this IPO:
Looked at the websites for each company, and I can't say I find any of the tech exciting. It doesn't really inspire me to invest, not that I have a choice - my money is committed to other things for the next 2 months.

This may be a last of its kind opportunity for a while though - government canned S12J investments, so this is the last of its kind. For now.

It doesn't mean people are selling. Share is worth less so there's less incentive to buy. Buyers drop their prices then sellers drop their prices. Shares can go up and down in value without anyone buying or selling.

Honestly, I didn't get your point. I would assume that below trade volume would indicate more 'selling' than "buying" considering this particular share and dividend situation?

Trade volume doesn't indicate whether it's buying or selling. You'd have to compare the trade volume to yesterday's to know if more trading was taking place. Some would only hold the share for the dividend but afterward if the price has already dropped there's no use in selling either.

I see. So, this could be some people buying as the shares keep on falling to catch dip, so to speak. And some people selling if they were holding it only for dividend. Interesting.

You do realise this literally happens with every share every time they declare a dividend?
