Easy Equities good or bad?

How do you view your remaining TFSA allowance on EE? I’ve put R36k in last year but couldn’t spend it all due to fees so was about R14 short. Need to put in this year’s allowance.

I know it won’t make much difference but curious anyway.

Account actions > fund this account.

So I can invest R36015.28 this year? Or I can only deposit R36000- R15.28 into the account this year since you cant carry over your balance?

What @3WA said, and I'd suggest depositing into your EE ZAR account and then transferring over, just to be safe.

You can’t carry over. As far as I know, you just have to live with the fact that fees will eat some of your R36k limit.

I'm not sure if anyone has ever asked EE to deduct the fees elsewhere so as not to cut into their TFSA limit.

Edit: Oh wait, I misunderstood. Your R15.28 is already there (presumably from last year or a dividend payment?). You can add your R36k for this year, the R15.28 is already there from last year so doesn’t count towards the limit.

I'm sure he can still invest that R15 if it was deposited last year. The question is why wasn't it invested last year if you can buy for that amount.

yeah, thanks, I misunderstood.

@azbob might be set up to exclude transaction fees (setting below) in which case it is bloody difficult to invest down to the last cent. If you set it to the second option, you can easily invest every cent.

That is a good question and I don’t have the answer. Have invested my R15.28 now.

The limit has nothing to do with how much you "invest" or transactions inside of the account. Dividends, fees all of that is irrelevant, you can even try trading inside your TFSA. Som people do.

The limit is purely just your contribution, so you can fund your TFSA with R36000 each year. Meaning add R36000 from your normal bank account to your TFSA each year.

That R15 is likely a div you got. So you have that to invest aswell.

Gents quick one. I won R1k & want to know of any "hot picks" you would throw in on for EE.

If not I will prolly top up my Exxaro & BAT then.

I'm trying to rustle up the money to max out my TFSA now. Wanna go all in.

I got a bit lucky in that I loaned someone some cash and didn't put in my entire R36000. Now I've got about R20k with which to buy some discounted ETFs.

I've always done monthly; this would be the first time I do a lump sum. Looking at the last two years, I see a lump sum would have won, so I want to try it this year.

Also looking at doing lumpsum for the first time. Got R36k ready to go but Global1200/MSCI world are both still on the way down.

I'm thinking of averaging in. R6k a week for the next 6 weeks or something like that.

Did you guys bite the bullet yet?

I feel you, my loss so far since this war began. Like you said thanks Putin, but also it is allowing us to Putin at lower levels.

Still in green but only barely. Biggest knock has been from Sygnia 4IR. Then the EFC South Africa Basket... pretty much all the companies there are down.

Portfolio is being held up by ACL/Purple/PPC/City Lodge

Purple, Renergen, and Satrix 40 are doing the heavy lifting for me. But they have met their match.

I don't quite think I've hit the March 2020 low yet. I'm unsure.

Time to invest. I prefer a low price now while I'm able to buy rather a low price when I need to sell.
