Easy Equities good or bad?

I got that too, but when you log into your EE account and click on the Thrive thing at the top, it tells a different story.

They also mentioned this new one would be in effect from 31 Nov, so why are we getting mails about it now?

The left hand doesn't know what the right is doing with these okes.

I am not grabbing my pitchfork and leaving them though.

Therein lies the problem.

If you read the wording very carefully, it doesn't say “you did achieve”, it says “you would have achieved”.

Yes, Chuck Savage, I know I would have achieved, just tell me when you're finally putting me on Level 3 and stop with your fscking PR damage control.

I've not received any comms from EE.

The only knowledge that I have of this BS is via this forum, and linked articles. It's pathetic.

I have an appointment with a financial advisor next week to discuss my options for moving my portfolio away from EE. The fee aside, I'm feeling very uncomfortable with the state of EE.

I ran my calculations on my FSRs yesterday. IF it came to it, my FSR losses would be negligible, so I won't be investing any more funds into EE.

Exceptionally surprised - took just under 4 hours and my bank account was credited with the full amount.

Questions I now have :

1. If I'm able to close the EE account (now a NIL balance) to avoid the monthly fee, will I still get an IT3b / IT3c for Feb 2024 tax emailed to me ?

2. If I don't close the EE account - so I can log in next year to access the IT3b / IT3c online - will they try charging it each month with this new fee, as it's still open but inactive ?

If anyone here knows, otherwise will have to log a ticket etc. with them.
2 things - there is profile closure (deletion) and then their is trading account closure = close demo/USD/AUD/ZAR/Prop accounts etc

Once you delete the account {EE ZAR account for example} - the account no longer shows in your statements or tax certificates.

You are not able to delete all accounts - there has to be one remaining even if balance is zero - need to log a ticket to escape this place...

Myself with all accounts ZAR 0.00 and closing all 7 accounts but 1 {unable to close it as 1 has to remain} received an email yesterday that I have not reached required threshold for thrive and will have to pay R25 as of 31Nov. [yes can deposit R1 etc but over it]

Issue - not sure what happens if you have zero in an account or only the demo accounts open - do you go into negative account balance and then the fun of interest + collections etc etc [i mean they have a bank account link - so im sure there is going to be some R25 debit orders grouped into the twice a year nonsense -- speculation]

Thanks for your valuable feedback.

When I've a chance later on, I'll send them a note (ticket).

My view is they can't keep people hostage (ie. not allow them to fully cancel) + still charge them a monthly fee.

They've blanked me when I've asked about negative balance. They just say give us money.

I am planning on moving my Coreshares etf's from EE to Coreshares. Not sure if this will be possible. Will also need to look at the monthly fees - EE vs Coreshares. I am sure dealing directly with Coreshares will be cheaper.
Is your ETF in a TFSA?

Oh look, I've just transferred than tenner I usual waste on the Lotto, and now I'm Thriving!

But but.... what if you won that lotto?

As others have said, this was never about affording the R25. But hey, here's hoping all the Purple Group shareholders one day get back into profit....
