Easy Equities good or bad?

Wow thats just messed up. I mean leave the profile open for these exact reasons. Sjoe.
Someone mentioned that it should be possible to request it at a later date when needed for SARS. Best to ask them directly. It was just a little jarring, as any other person with IT and financial background would know, hitting a database error instead of a curated page smells of having absolutely no protocol for closing of accounts, I take it was due to them never thinking of it if it always stayed free, then why the need but things changed.

On leaving the profile open to access tax docs, that is exactly what I would've expected. Costs practically nothing.

I have been in communication with them all morning and afternoon, they re-activated my account so I could transfer my money out eventually. Not without it's challenges as they only opened up access to API and not banking abilities but after some more comms they sorted it and I authorised. So, should be free of them completely soon.

My journey with them seems done. Good luck.

So, I am currently invested in a specific ETF with EE with my TFSA. What happens if Sygnia does not have that ETF. How would the move work?

You are screwed. The only way to move it to another provider if they also have the same ETF

Not true.

Once you have money invested in a TFSA, you can move between ETFs as you wish. It will not affect your annual or yearly contribution limit.

Thanks! This is helpful.

Speak to Sygnia (or the provider you are transferring to). I assume you would disinvest with your current provider by selling all the ETF units, but leaving the funds in the ETF account (ie not withdrawing any money). The lumpsum would be transferred to your new provider and you would then have the option to invest in whichever ETF's you want within the new provider's range using the lumpsum.

Maybe not the thread (can't find the right one), but investing full TFSA allocation for my kids. Money in EE, just looking for suggestions for ETFs to consider.

Of course this is long term so just need good long term gains.

They are already invested in S&P 500 and Nasdaq.

Don't know if it's a good idea to go back into that or something else.

Thx

MSCI world, although that is very highly correlated to what you already have. I have my kids in some satrix 40 and satrix Divi too.

New mail just came in.

Something I noticed:

Yeah same here. I haven't received anything from them in my inbox concerning thrive. I did get confirmation of my R1 deposit so they've definitely got the right address on file.

I wonder if they're maybe using their thrive mailing list to which I, and a bunch of others, probably unsubscribed on day one.

I see EE have launched an SA bond unit trust as rates have increased. Adds flexibility rather than being locked in via direct purchases.

EasyEquities making extremely difficult to move my TFSA, they've now, in over a week had a different person respond each time and ask me to complete the exact same document before proceeding with the transfer.

Ask for 1 person who can help. Or message the ceo via twitter for help!

As simple as that

Already done, there is only meant to be one person, but - anyone responds, randomly.

And yes... Twitter made no difference in the past. CEO just tags someone else to do nothing.
