Easy Equities good or bad?

Put money in -Buy shares (complete). See same amount is still in my funds to invest  Should I be a d!ck and try invest in more :p It's obviously a glitch or something.

I need to top up the TFSA (35K) .. money is now in EE.

Portfolio is up 98%, and ETFs I previously bought into was S&P 500, and something else (that I can't recall now).

Recommendations for ETFs too look at in this climate? Thinking it's wise to avoid the US Funds this time and to diversify. It's a long term thing for me so not looking for immediate returns. Thanks for the tips! Yes, I know it's not advice!!

Question regarding Canal + and Multichoice shares.

So for those that own MCG shares through bought through EE.
How do you exercise your right to accept the offer from C+ ?
I believe there are forms to fill out if you are a certified shareholder.
Correct me if i misunderstand the process but if your bought through EE its Dematerialised shares .

Asking for a friend :sneaky:

Personally I'm buying EU defence stocks. Rheinmetall is up 60% over the last 3 months. BAE up 14% in the last week on account of UK increasing their defence spend as well.

GLOBAL and chill.

Yes, it's 60% US, but you're covered whether Orange Man pumps the markets or destroys civilisation.

I paired S&P500 with Satrix Property. I wanted S&P plus a dividend focussed ETF. The property ETF looked like it had better dividend payments and lower costs then the equity based dividend ETF's I looked at (10X was one I think.)

ETF's are kind of new to me so not sure how good or bad my strategy is!

Morning.

Am I correct in presuming today is the day to deposit 36k in to TFSA?

If I've got one through Fnb, is there any reason to start a new one with EE and get a bigger return?

Tfsa’s via banks are very limited, as in funds.

I moved my TFSA in 2020 away from FNB. Best move I did!

Is the annual contribution limit still 36K this financial year 2026?
Could this change with the Budget speech and be lowered?

I doubt it will be lowered ever. It started off with R30k, then R33k, and now R36k

And changes as in up, also doubt it very strongly
yes, thats the trend but this amazing government didn't get their 2% vat increase so this could be another avenue?

What's the return at EE Vs a Fnb been?

How does one go about changing?

Just wasn't keen with all eggs in EEs basket especially taking a beating holding purple group for years...

I moved from Fnb, as they charged a monthly fee. After losing customers, they dropped it totally on tfsa packages.

What I have learned, you bank at a bank, you don’t invest longterm with a bank

but why?

The same reason you don't invest at a life insurer, it's costly (Liberty and Sanlam and Old Mutual etc RAs are way more expensive than at investment companies) and they're not focussing on their core competency.
I'm with ABSA Stockbrokers and they're a separate business unit from the bank.
Have been with them since 2007 and always been happy
