Easy Equities good or bad?

On a side note. My father has been maxing his TFSA since its inception up until 2024. 9 years contributions worth R336k.
Originally, it was with Capitec, and he then moved it to NinetyOne into some funds.

Value as of today is about R490k. That TFSA will now be disposed of, and the money paid to his estate. Just FYI.
Thanks for that handy titbit of advice

I just wonder, when do you make the call and access some of those funds? I mean do you want to hold on to it till you old AF?\

My kids TFSA's are also couple hundred k atm. Oupa sorted them out every year.

I wont touch it in a while. Not for 30 years!

R36k in Apple gear vs maxing out your TFSA?

You know the answer.

Want to really cry?

If you bought Apple shares with all the money you spent on Apple products over the years how much would you have today?

Just thinking about my iPhone 3GS and without accounting for dividends it’s an easy $10,000 today.

I personally think, that is the most lowest risk.

I have a PSG unit trust account also (TFSA also).

I like to diversify!
Is that the PSG TFIP ?
Does it work similarly to EE where you can change your portfolio without withdrawing or is it more like the banks (they decide basket) and withdrawal actually counts towards overall limit?

Its like EE. But unit trust based. I think EFT’s are alot cheaper to be honest.

I like to diversify. And not much control like EE on your finger tips.

You sign up, debit order or lump sum, choose funds and off you go….

And withdraw rules, it affects your total overall input limit.

So rule 1: never withdraw, but move if needed

I am sitting with a R100k SARS penalty because of a TFSA move/transfer I did. SARS saw it as a contribution. Bunch of fscking idiots.
It was a transfer from one provider to another. Not a contribution.

It's actually a really good question what would happen to that money if you were to pay the penalty. Technically, it should be exempt from CGT in future, because you put it in a TFSA and paid SARS for the privilege. But no-one is brave enough to test it.

Well, I have this R100k penalty/fine showing on my profile. The transfer documentation clearly states it was a transfer with a code and not a contribution. We have logged the issue with SARS about 3 months ago already and still nothing. This results in my SARS showing that I am not compliant, which in turn are causing issues for me on other fronts.

Whatever you do, and I am sure most of you know this. Don't hold a TFSA at a bank. Collecting just interest. I did it in the beginning with Capitec, but back then the interest rates were pretty good. Reminds me of when I TRIED to initiate the process of transferring it out of Capitec to Ninetyone. Mother balls. What a clusterfsck. The idiot on the other end of the phone just tunes me I must transfer all the money out of my TFSA and make a payment to my new provider. What a fscking idiot, and to think there are most probably people who did it like that.

There you go an fsck up your lifetime limits on your name regarding a TFSA. Because that will be a withdrawal and you will not be able to put that back in your TFSA.

I am still battling with one of my kids TFSA to get it moved from Capitec to 10X. Ball ache of note.

I managed to transfer 2 x TFSA's from Capitec to NinetyOne and now to 10X. Fsck those FA's from PSG and NinetyOne with all their fees.

Yeah man, I will hold till I die and will make damn sure my kids hold as well after I am gone. That is, if it keeps on performing the way it does. I am riding the dividend wave here. Dividends could be better for such an expensive share.

But, atm my CPI is up 1270%. So you see, not something I will sell for shiits and giggles.

You can dump any FA, not difficult to manage it yourself.

Secondly, bank related, even African Bank offered crazy TFSA rates, and after year 1, that rate drop like a brick!
