Easy Equities good or bad?

Closest I can find:

Are there any limitations to the number of purchases I can make each day?

The Issuer Securities available on the EasyEquities Platform may be subject to a prescribed maximum amount or value for purchases, as prescribed either by the Issuer or by the EasyEquities platform.

EasyEquities may from time to time limit the:

total value of Trades which you may execute;
total value of Trades which you may execute in a given Security;
total number of Trades which you may execute; and

I have no idea WTF this means, but this is the response I've received from them via email

Please note that some securities are closed at that particular time because of the auction that takes place for certain instruments. This occurs because of the limit and liquidity issue that affects those particular instruments. Kindly be advised that you are able to place trades telephonically through our trading desk however, additional charges may apply. You can contact the trading desk on + 27 87 940 .6101/6102. How to add shares to MSN Money

This +100000

It is excellent, leagues better than Google.

I'm struggling to add my investments to MSN money. For instance, when I add Capitec (CPI) to my list it gives me the wrong portfolio value e.g I bought 9.99 shares of Capitec at 50050 on 11 August 2015. When I add it to MSN money as that amount OR 500.50 it shows this:

capitecbuy.png

But then when I go to portfolio view it is screwed up:

Please help guys

It may have been better than Google, but it is still rubbish. I have abandoned MSN finance and switched over to GNU cash and just manually update my portfolio when I feel like it. It is not as if I am day trading down to the millisecond.

Yeah, that is quite messy. Maybe Romi can provide us with what they have planned.

Hi Guys,
Apologies for late response - our financial year end so running a little.
Many improvements coming to reporting including a comprehensive monthly report.

For now, the best way to see what you paid per tranche is via your transaction report.
On the share view we only give you the average price.

Thanks

Had a listen and what worries I had are now no more. At least I now know that the main risk is in the fractional shares that's all.

Any ideas on how to only purchase full shares on their platform? Would be a great feature to add vs the amount that you want to purchase

Hi there,

At this stage you invest via a Rand Amount and not a via a share price so you cant actual invest in whole shares.
Mostly because you need a live price to do this.
We are looking to add this down the line.

Thanks

Yeah, it's been "coming soon" for quite a while now.

Hi Guys

An update on this, we are awaiting the relative license to offer "managed" solutions.
In the interim, you can invest in the normal TFSA offering and we will then move you over when the managed solution becomes available.

Thanks

Romi why do we get this message on certain stocks whereas others are available at that point in time?: "This security is currently unavailable for trading. For phone to trade contact +27 87 940 6101"

Hi Galactica.
This could be because of liquidity on the market or the instrument may be suspended as a correct pricing is not pulling through.
When it happens again, email me and I will look into it asap.

Thanks

Will it only be available for TFSA?

So everything one purchases now is fractions?

And I thought that you actually owned the non-fractional shares and if Purple Group goes bust you are guaranteed that these were in your name.
I used to think so too.

If everything is fractions then they need to say so clearly in their advertising...they must say you are buying CFDs and not not compare themselves to other brokers who give you whole shares.

eish

a thread goes bust in 3 posts???

it has been covered a few times guys.
i own 23.8756 Naspers shares (NPN)

23 shares is registered in my name at computershare ( or whoever the register is for that company)

.8756 shares is handled per CFD contract between me and purple group. i get the benefits as per usual payouts.

tomorrow if i buy .1244 of a Naspers share at a lovely R200, i will own 24 naspers shares, and the CFD contract with purple group is cancelled (all behind the scenes)

yes if purple group takes a dive, you will lose out on the fractional share - but even at the most expensive naspers share, that will be at most ~R1600, and even then i guess there is ways to claim it back since we pay the relevant protection levies.

Is the EE website relatively safe from hacking/information theft? Not seeing safety features used by other FSPs...

How do you guys go about selecting shares? So far I have stuck to index or ETFs, which are easier to get involved with.

I assume many hours of research etc?
