Easy Equities good or bad?

Does it not mean the trade needs to be a min of R80? Not the min brokerage fee will be R80

Its the brokerage fee - you'll pay that minimum regardless of trade amount. So investing R1000 you'll need about 8% growth just to break even.

shafted myself with fnb
bought r500 worth of shares only realised later they charge brokerage for buy and sell
so nearly lost r200
not that stupid any more :)

Does anyone have any feedback on easy equities baskets?

Is it worthwhile to look at the baskets? Full and lite?

Thanks

Quick question. How long does it take for the Fica process to complete?

Within hours depending how well yours is, if there is funny stuff like you rent and not own property then they might follow up with the landord/agency first etc small things like that.

Yeah, think I'm caught up in that. Submitted all my docs on Sunday and I'm still waiting. Meanwhile there's a firesale on the JSE. Just my luck. ;)

Cheers

What shares will be good to buy today?

Or are you talking of buying into the basket?

buy the basket that is the basket I have the full one vanilla i made no changes (that is what you pay them for trusting they did the weighing)

I do not have the knowledge to build a portfolio solidly DIY without investing a lot of time ( Time is something I do not have ) So I personally like the basket as an investment vehicle for a once of lumpsum.

I have not nor planning to reinvest into the basket since I do not think you can I think once you have the basket it appears if I want to put another lumpsum in I need to do that manually

I just saw the basket system they were raving about, What would be nice is if we could use our own baskets (instead of theirs) and invest an amount in them based on the weightings?

Well they finally responded about my post. Thing is they want to contact me to "discuss" it. I don't see what there is to discuss. Their faq makes no mention of having to do no trading during the 14 day waiting period for unsettled cash. Discussing it won't change that.

The statement they gave me regarding it resetting is also untrue as it didn't reset but assigned a random amount so their employees don't know it works themselves. Discussing it won't change that. If there's a logically consistent way to derive at the amount this forum would have been the perfect opportunity to show it. So far that hasn't happened and nobody here has come up with such a formula.

Money going missing from day closing to day opening and inexplicable changes in balances. Discussing it won't change that.

Btw I actually gave the details of who I am and they even emailed me. Can't they check their own records?

That's called your portfolio
