Easy Equities good or bad?

had this issue last year sometime (is a pity though - thought they fixed the bug).

anyhow, its possible to call the call center and ask them for a detailed account statement.

it gave me details like share numbers / invoice numbers / purchase values etc - up to the fractional share, which was all i needed for my records.

Maybe this sound silly but I track my EE investments using google finance. Prices are delayed but nice to actually see the prices, deposits etc if you put it all in. Only log in to EE to do actual trades.

Now if only they had auto buy/sell order I'd be super stoked but working fine for me. Made over 10% on both Sasol and Ashanti with them in the last month.

Been watching SOL recently and definitely think it's a share i'm gonna buy. Exceptionally cheap PE. With long term sights I feel it's going to bounce back to where it was in the next couple months.

I was lucky I bough SOL @ 38400.

Currently sitting @ 41616 if they dip to 39K then I will buy more.

Some else I was also lucky.

PSV caught them at R0.04 a share they sitting on R0.16 at the moment took a massive gamble on that one as I don't know anything about the company went by pure luck, but it paid off.

The problem with penny stocks come in when you try to sell. For individual stocks, I try to go for low PE, relatively high market cap and volume and high dividend, so a good chunk in property.

Keep in mind that you have to figure out your real gain/loss based on total input and current portfolio value. The "Current holdings cost" was misleading to me in the beginning (I knew very little, although still not nearly enough). I'm up just over 4% overall since middle November based on holdings cost vs current value, but quite a bit lower if fees and losses are taken into account. I've had to pay some school fees on a few early bad trades :)

I think the shares I've got now I can stick with as reasonable investments for quite a while.

That's why I liked the google finance portfolio tracker. With transactions you enter agents commision/costs as well so you can track how much and investment has actually grown taking that into consideration.

yup, and also don't forget to add Zuma's Nkandla expense aka tax.

But that is why we love EE - I tried the same using FNB's platform, and the fee's was a killer :(
paid about R1100 to buy and sell R65,000 worth of CML excluding the monthly account fee's.

Same, I got lucky and bought Aspen a while back on the FNB share platform ( R15 monthly ), and while the share has done great ( bought cost of R129/share now over R420/share )
I hate the monthly charge and the transaction charge when I sell.

Ah man, I was so lucky with Aspen, I bought them at R71 ages ago and its just been rocketing up.
THE NEW NASPERS!

A quick question for you lot.

Do you use live pricing feeds to keep a track of how potential shares are going throughout the day, and then use EE as a broker to buy and sell those shares?

I'm quite interested to get into trading as a side thing, so looking into different options.

I only invest long term, so no day to day trading for me. Although I do keep track of some stuff using Google Finance and Bloomberg (Bloomberg is awesome).

If you want to learn how to trade Standard Bank OST has a lot of training resources, FNB has a Share Builder platform to help you out (between Share Saver and their full on Share Trader platforms). These can get expensive thou Other training material can be found at sites like www.justonelap.com etc).

Doesn't really answer your question, but might be useful.

It's all so expensive with those option though as you pay atleast a min fee of R75 per trade.
I'm thinking of using EE as a base for buying and selling, but looking for a third party platform that would allow me to view the entire JSE live prices and stock prices etc...

They charge for live prices and EE's buy and sell prices are not based on the live qoutes.

I know the EE prices are delayed. That's why I am looking for another platform that offers live prices where you would pay a small monthly fee..

I think Amibroker does something like that but not sure.

PSG does that, but it's a k@k platform.

Amibroker does yes, but it looks to daunting for me to try.

Sandardbank also offers live prices etc

These of you using Google fiance and Bloomberg, is there a way to set up alerts for when Share prices reach a certain point?

I just want an alert when Sasol dips belowe 39 900, I think below that would be a good purchase.
