Easy Equities good or bad?

well f-me ... this kind of nonsense really makes you think before entrusting your hard earned savings to such complete and utter muppets ...

29 Oct, poor naive me asking if they really just have the one money market fund, including a screenshot of the "invest now" filters showing only one:

more than 24hr later, an empty response stating it is now escalated, ok I think, it's not that serious, but I'd still like that answer:

7 days go by, radio silence, I nudge with a simple:
so this "escalated" request is now another 7 days older, it was a simple question, why does it take this long to provide a simple answer?

another half day later, I get no answer to my question, and get pointed at the same tool I submitted a F-ING SCREENSHOT of in my initial request?!?
I trust this message finds you well, and I appreciate your understanding during this time.

I sincerely apologize for the delay.

Please be informed that you can locate Money Market options on the Investnow page to view all available money market funds.

Best regards,
Lynell Babu Dayal

/facepalm time:
I was not asking how to find it, does anyone ever read the request?

I was stating that I have already gone through the exercise to find all listed money market funds, I was surprised that only one is listed. My question was:
- can you confirm there is only one?
OR
- are your filters broken and not listing the others?

thank heavens this happened before I moved my entire preservation fund to EasyEquities, how the fahk do you trust these clowns with real money?!? ... to the pensions department shortly after:
I have the forms printed and signed, but to be blunt I have two support tickets with EasyEquities that simply are not getting attention, one even has monetary impact.
I'm rethinking whether I can trust EasyEquities with another large lump sum of money if it can't get the basics right.

I know that's not your department, but for what it's worth I'm talking about #3329070 which is a simple question that nobody bothers to answer a week later, and much more worryingly #3341283 where your system sold unit trust units without my approval and can't bother to explain why, that has actual monetary impact.

Please cancel the whole process of moving my pension preservation fund, unfortunately I trust Allan Gray a lot more than EasyEquities at this point in time.

I trust these guys with my life savings if I am honest. It is a great plaform for what I use them for (just want to emphasise that I don't think you are wrong).

I do not put myself through the pains of their support though, unless something is catastrophically wrong. And in saying that, I do the same with FNB (they are just as bad, if not worse - I have been through hell with them).

So I get your frustrations. But if it were me, I would have checked the available instruments and left it at that.

Excellent. My memory is intact after all.
Thanks, got my numbers, I have invested much less than I thought.

If the numbers are right. My EE TSFA is up 300%, but EE dashboard is only showing a gain of 110%.

Obviously I have been buying or selling periodically. Just didn't think it was that much.

well I'm still waiting for ANY kind of response explaining why they automatically sold units from my RA account, more than two days later and no explanation

this is a far bigger concern, in what universe is it "ok" for a provider to summarily sell your investments without you approving it or even knowing about it until after the fact?

THAT is why I do not trust them with more of my savings

I did actually find an appropriate instrument to invest my preservation fund in, but I will not do it given they can't even respond to explain the above

be careful, my ITA34 shows a lower total TFSA invested amount than I know I've invested

I have two TFSA accounts and have checked statements for both since inception, tallied up every single deposit, I get a grand total about 80k higher than SARS shows

if it was a mere 36k difference I'd just assume that's excluding the current tax year where I have made another 36k deposit already, but the difference is bigger than could be explained by that as well

Well that's a fug up. All my funds have been with EE, so that's why I would like them to confirm the deposits

Mine also says a difference. I'll take it.

If you check "recent transactions" in your account, does it show anything there?

I've only heard of peoples funds disappearing when they have no cash available in their account and they are liable to pay the "thrive fee".

yeah it shows a sell order that I never created, the trader is "automated"

I'm not liable for the thrive fee fwiw, have a standing debit order to ensure a net positive deposit every month
this is on a brand new RA account as well, created late in October, large deposit made to it, and every ZAR invested in one unit trust with a single buy order

days later the buy is executed, happy days, only a couple of days after that this mysterious sell order sits there, I only found out about it when the invoice appeared in my inbox

I thought it could be fee related as well, but the proceeds are sitting in my balance still, there is no line item anywhere deducting any fees

I also thought perhaps FSRs work differently with unit trusts on EasyEquities, but no, my remaining investment still has an FSR portion

thankfully the amount is small, but I'm not letting this go, will take it all the way to the Ombud if these clowns don't bother to even respond

It only tracks those stats since the last buy, stupidly so.

Hence you don’t get an entire portfolio view over time unless you’ve only ever bought.

All investing houses in South Africa are a complete rip-off... it's the South African way, it is not just this type of industry.

On your EE dashboard it shows you your total investment charges, it is horrific.

And no 18 buy/sell orders is not "trading" the person could have done that in a year or a month etc.
