Easy Equities good or bad?

The reason why I “like” EE, without going in their bugs…. Its simple, straight forward. And yes, they are charging fees on transactions.

Other platforms charge a monthly fee on the amount invested

Choose the right option, either or, fees will be charged someway or another.

who does that? only if they are managing your portfolio

How do those brokers survive?
It is not really zero commission they still get paid. They do "payment for order flows". I.e they sell your order to a market maker and get paid that way and claim zero commissions to their clients.

Then it is debatable if your price per share becomes higher then a broker like interactive brokers who trade on the exchange.

But it is also how come sales in shares in game stop were stopped for most retail investors as the market makers these zero commission platforms like Robinhood use froze their customers out.

Anybody know if there is a way to see your performance YTD, 1 month, 1 year whatever on EasyHardImpossibleEquities???

You would think the most basic of displays would be displayed.... ?!

It's right there on the main screen.

Only problem is it's "growth" not strictly performance so it takes any additional funding as part of the performance.

If I want to see purely performance I pump it into Gemini.

What a useless platform I swear... I really do wonder what their "IT" department looks like

It’s a tricky problem to solve, so most platforms I’ve seen do it like this exactly.

After all you can just go view the performance of your individual stocks on their own fact sheet screens.

No you cannot.

If I want to see my YTD performance or weekly etc <-- this you cannot do.

It does not help if I look at one stock and see +256% <-- that is the average since I bought it, which could be 10 years ago.

If my account is R5,000 and I deposit another R5,000 <-- then EE says your performance is +100%! well done! I mean ffs...

Absolute amateur clownshow, just hire proper IT people with a brain, not hard.

If it bothers you and you dont want to use spreadsheets, try a demo of Kubera or Capitally

However both have subscription fees if you like the demo

A real rookie mistake! (As in admin on the firm’s side) 😱
The problem is that some folks still made TFSA deposits yesterday, so only from today "R46k" is valid.
i just checked my account on ABSA, after they were down for a while this morning and transferred my R46k to my TFSA

Transfer to TFSA this morning indeed showed R46 000 available to contribute this year..
