Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone else is also experiencing issues with their EC2 (ours is US-East) connectivity.

Like we have a ping packet loss of about 10% and the latency is about 370ms to 340ms to SA, where it use to be like 230ms. This started about 35 minutes ago (19:29)...

From 19:29 - 19:33, we were completely offline from EC2 with our Neotel Internet connections in SA.

It would be greatly appreciated to get feedback from other EC2 users!

Regards,
Chris

Been seeing reports of problems from a number of guys in the US over night. Mostly complaints of high packet loss and latency.

The problem may be related to a widespread outage on one of the service providers that EC2 uses to connect to the internet.

Thanks Ambo.

The AWS status page did show the following like 1 hour after we started to experience problems:
[RESOLVED] Increased API Errors and Latencies
1:56 AM PDT We are investigating increased API errors and latencies US-EAST-1 region.
2:31 AM PDT Between 1:36 AM and 2:12 AM PDT the EC2 APIs experienced increased error rates and latencies. No running instances were affected. The issue has been resolved and the service is operating normally.

At 22:22 the latency dropped from 330 to 230ms again, and luckily it remained there ever since.
