Hi

Has anybody dealt with ECN as a VOIP supplier? We are currently looking at them, but I'm not sure about audio quality as the link from our office to ECN network is VOIP.

Thanks!

We ran a test line with them for 2 weeks and decided not to go ahead because the quality was flaky.

Did they use adsl for voice,
1 main suggestion, only use adsl for a maximum of 1 line for 384kb
2 for 512kb and 5 for 1mb circuit.
Have a good gateway to priotize all voice traffic and use decent ip
Phones snom, polycom, etc

For businesses many right minded people would suggest point to point
Connectivity ie diginet, fibre, or similar

You would experience problems with any other type of line for voice

ADSL is perfectly capabale of carrying multiple voip calls with land-line call quality.

If you're having problems achieving this, then either (a) you're flooding the link with data; or (b) your VoIP provider is not particularly good; or (c) your end-point (VoIP phone / gateway) is not particularly good.

Diginet is overkill unless you're running call-centre volumes of calls.
