EDGE gaining ground

While this may not be of huge benefit to many broadband users I think that it will be a good thing for telemetry users and users in under serviced areas. GPRS can do with a little nudge in speed ;)
 
I have done many speed test using EDGE hardware and it is surprising to see that South Africa's biggest cellular provider is much slower on EDGE than its smaller rivals.
 
EDGE is perfect for surfing on a phone...did a wiki on edge and you'll be amazed at what speeds edge can get...if only the service providers stuck to edge we would be paying cents for megs and not rands...
 
Nope we probably would still pay rands. two of them... :)
