EFF: Durban's name should've changed long ago

Just rename all the ANC ran cities and towns to Fokkop 1,2,3...

Saves time and it gives a pretty accurate description of the city.

90%+ of EFF supporters can't even spell Durban, let alone something more complex.
 
Limpopo and Polokwane are the biggish name changes that seem to have stuck properly.

Fun fact: the Limpopo change required a constitutional amendment as the constitution names the provinces.

There was no such outpost as you describe.

The Portuguese operated out Lourenço Marques (Maputo), which was far better port for their purposes than Port Natal.

It would appear that Durban's only relation to the slave trade was that the British deposited slaves which they had freed in an area on or near the Bluff and they formed a community which was later displaced by Apartheid group areas laws.
 
As it is when I go to Durban City centre and ask the taxi driver to drop me off at Stalwart Simelane Street, he gives me a bewildered look, now I want to go to Gqeberha, LOL WTF
 
But in a way naming a place after the Khoi-San is fitting, other than naming it after Foreigners, The Khoi-San are the only real natives of this country, my opinion.

Also. It is certain that Maize was introduced to the local tribes by the Portugese while trading with them.
