Eggs - how much is to much?

I posted a thread about this earlier, and I urge you to head there, read the links, watch the videos, and learn a little more about cholesterol. These sorts of markers are awful as references for health. Don't take my word for it though. Follow the links. We can discuss it in the appropriate thread if you'd like to address the science. I just urge you to do so before attempting to rebut it, or attempting to derail it into a discussion about advice from the internet...

Deleted for the sake of civility...

DJ, please just make sure we did not loose some of your good reference links with the lost posts. I am still working through many of them.

Thanks for you valiant effort in spite of all this!

I've read Good Calories, Bad Calories by Gary Taubes where he goes into this in quite a lot of detail, but the OP was asking about cholesterol and eating eggs so I was just telling him my experience.

I discussed this with my doctor too and she said it's still a relevant measurement and good indicator of potential cardiac problems but that now she looks at the Total and HDL cholesterol measurements rather than being overly concerned about high LDL measurements as she would have been in the past.

I think DJ... started another thread with all the links etc.

Please read the links I sent. Not gonna carry on arguing. All of this is addressed in the links, in detail. Docs are not infallible. Let's discuss it in the relevant thread...

So I don't have to worry about my cholesterol being 10.6?

Not if your LDL-P measurement is fine. But there's actually no way to make a determination based on such an incredibly basic metric. It measures nothing of significance. But that doesn't mean that you're perfectly healthy. Speak to your doc but demand an LDL-P check...
