Anyone installed it yet? I'm still downloading at home. It seems like another Snow Leopard. Refined. But nothing really special in terms of functionality. Also saw on Twitter that the biggest problem is with Office 2016. That's a biggie.

There are also problems with Parallels which are making me hold back on upgrading. With a conference on Saturday I will wait until next week.

I do IT support for my SO. So my laptop is the guinea pig for all new apps, updates etc. I'm going to test it out tonight. Hopefully I don't break anything seriously. I need to for class on Monday.

Appeared on app store around 9pm so downloaded, just complete backup and created a bootable usb.

Downloaded and installed it early in the morning on MacBook Pro #1 and had no problems. The process was completed in about 30 minutes. Then MacBook #2 followed... and it has been going for three hours and I am not past 3.5GB of the download yet. Seems like as more people in Europe and Africa are getting to the office and start to install, it just slows down to a crawl.

Could the OP tell us more about the problems with Office 2016 on El Capitan?

You should have copied the installer before you ran it on the first machine.

Think ill update/upgrade before a clean install.

I'm on the road for a couple weeks so I'll hold off until mid month. That should be plenty of time for Aperture related feedback to surface.

Yep, that would have been better. But I guess Tim Cook responded immediately after he received my email complaining about hogged servers and bumped off everybody else from the download server. My installation is now flying and should be done in about 5 minutes. :-)

A clean install would be preferable, were it not for the pain of reconfiguring everything.

I'd save this copy of the installer onto a flash drive before you run it - always handy to have a backup.

Is the iStore providing installer like they normally do with other OS upgrades?

Been running El C since lunch time, only issue is myBB site text is for lack of better work fuzzy, all other websites are fine.

I noticed something in EC/Outlook 2016 that I am sure was not the case with Yosemite/Outlook 2016: the subject column squashes text unless you widen it more than it was set before the upgrade. When I saw this on the 2012 non-Retina MBP, I thought that this was a shortcoming we would have to live with, and then the same happened on my rMBP.

I guess it is not serious but could be a pain later on, if the same were to happen elsewhere.

An area that has been fixed is System Information, where the information pertaining to an option on the left, appearing on the right, was previously no wider than about 30 characters, making it difficult to read technical specs, due to the excessive text wrapping. I checked now and this is no longer the case.

Outlook for Mac 2011 on OS X 10.11 hangs during account sync operation

Symptoms
Shortly after you start Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011 on Mac OS X El Capitan (version 10.11), Outlook hangs when it tries to sync with the server. The Spinning Wait cursor is displayed, and the application status is displayed as "Not Responding."

Note Outlook for Mac 2011 does not hang when you're working offline or when no accounts are added. This issue occurs only when Outlook tries to sync an account with the server.

Workaround
To work around this issue, run Outlook for Mac 2011 on Mac OS X Yosemite (version 10.10) or an earlier version.

So, Outlook for Mac 2011 connecting to Exchange 2007 not working.

Crap that sucks. I've been running El Crapitan on my personal Macbook for a while already now and had no issues, but I don't use Outlook on it. Just updated my work Macbook and I do use Outlook on there...

EDIT: Just checked and mine seems to be working still.

Installed on my Macbook Pro today. Did an upgrade with Office 2016 already install and its running smoothly. Haven't found any bugs yet....
