Elden Ring

Will wait for steam sale or gamepass. Not paying that price
Gamepass is a life saver for gaming especially if you're budget conscious. I can definitely see lots of people buying Elden Ring full price though, Soul series don't come out very often and they're always worth the price of admission.

(Also wait for sale, If you can wait a few months, big ticket sellers like these usually go to sale quick.)

It will sell alot. But I can't justify paying R900 when their are other AAA rpg's going for R600 or less.

Still have enough in my steam library and gamepass to wait it out.

More hours than Resident Evil 2 / The Village? I paid pretty much the 'R900' for both.

Those are action games hardly a genre know for long games.

For comparison sake elex 2 is launching in the same window estimate time to complete with a rush play through is 60 hours by the devs and is priced at R600.
Elden ring has an estimated completion time of 30 hours but is priced at R850

I am sure Elden Ring will be great and those who buy at launch will enjoy but for me it's overpriced.

Firstly gameplay length <> value for money.

I played the first Elex. I've played all Souls games since DS2. The Souls series has far more replayability than most games in the same relative genre. It is in fact something they are well known for and are popular for.

You are comparing apples and oranges here.

Both are action rpg's don't see how it's an unfair comparison.
For me game lenght is very important aspect when judging quality. Favorite games being the likes bg2 with 100+ hours of content.
Replayability while great isn't used by most gamers.

Have you played any of the Souls series of games to completion, specifically the likes of Bloodborne, Dark Souls or Demon Souls ?

Nioh 1+2, sekiro, lords of the fallen & ourward.
So 1 then...the one least focused on replayability through build variation with no multiplayer element or invasion system.

I still don't see how you could compare any of those with Elex though.

But at the end of the day it's your money and your value proposition. I just find the comparison very odd given what the Souls series are known for.

Sekiro was fun but I missed the class and character making of From Software's other games. It certainly reduced the replay value for me (especially since Sekiro didn't scale its NG+ so I breezed through the first two-thirds of the game with no problems). Really excited for Elden Ring. I think I'll do what I did with Souls and Bloodborne where I went with a very vanilla build for my first playthrough and then I'll experiment with more creative builds on subsequent playthroughs.

Just received the following from Nexus Hub regarding the collector’s edition ordered. Not sure if they’re using the same supplier as other stores with physical copies:

Hi Joshua,

The following note has been added to one of your orders with Nexus Hub:

Hi Elden Ring fan,

Just a quick heads up on a potential delay for the Collector’s and Launch Day editions of Elden Ring in South Africa. Due to severe storms in Europe, the transit of stock to South Africa has been delayed. As such we are working closely with the official distributor on all updates around the potential delay of this release and will keep you posted on progress.

We apologise for this unavoidable logistics issue and will provide updates as we receive them.

Thank you, the Nexus Hub Orders Team

That's a bit annoying. pre-order the game expecting to get it on launch, and then it arrives who knows when

At this rate I’ll be buying a digital copy off of steam to play it on launch while I wait for the CE. Means I miss out on the preorder bonus but it just looks to be the gesture
