Elden Ring

That moon lady is kicking my ass - using serpent sword +8 but can't get her health down quickly enough before her summons flatten me.

I haven't tried to take her on using ranged yet with the meteorite and rock sling spell.

Edit - the ranged approach did the job. Heh!

Ye I found the rock sling to be very OP in open areas. Normal magic spells can't stagger but the rock sling can because it's pure physical damage. Can even stun dragons in a few hits.

There is even a bug with the rock sling spell where it has infinite range if you hold your staff in the left hand. As long as you can lock on to an enemy, 2 out of the 3 rocks will always keep going and hit. Not sure if this has been patched yet. In 1.02 it still has the bug (I'm staying on 1.02 until I finish).

The discoverability is really cool.

Decided to complete Rogiers quest and on my way noticed an area I could drop down further into - one area led to another and found myself battling what looked like a corrupted plant monster or mutated slug in the bowels of Stormveil Castle.

Dropped a nice Golden Seed.

There was a massive old Dragon Skull in the area too (didn't do anything though).

There's quite an interesting bit of lore attached to the flat face looking thing down there :)

And grats, that ulcerated tree spirit gave me a hard time and scared me sh1tless...

I will confess to jumping just a little bit when it popped up

Definitely a game that should be played at night/darkened room

I just realized that there's aren't that many good heavy armours in this game. I got the Banished Knight set early on in Stormveil castle and haven't found anything better 60hrs in. Just googles to check what else there is. Not much is better. There's only 5 sets with better poise and 4 of them look like ass.

Thought this game had a lot more better armours and that I would eventually find something a lot better.

Welcome to Souls games ;)

Better in what sense? Poise is not the be-all-end-all.

Armour is overrated. If you get hit it means you failed to doge or block

So I've heard....and yet.....here I am.....

For whatever the reason Diablo is my crack in a way that none of its 'equivalents' have ever managed - /looks askance at PoE that I've tried and tried and failed to like.....
Its the gold standard. Always has been

Just wrapping up in Weeping Peninsula now, just making a run through Stormveil Castle as there appears to be a lot I've missed. Was away the weekend so didn't get much time to play yesterday, but currently the sheets looking good. 1650345642173.png1650345659981.png

I'm interested to see everyone's characters and stats, I'll post mine later today

I've done everything in the green zone 100%, lvl106 now with 70 hrs played. Left the red zone on the top of Caelid for later as it seems like something more endgame. Everything there has a lot more HP and there are +8 and +9 stones which suggests it's meant for late game.

Now busy with all the underground areas.

Here's my stats and setup:
