Whats your thoughts?

1. Commute when I have to go to work is 11.3KM one way or 22.6KM
2. Price at Makro seems to start from R9,999. - Not sure longevity and quality of the battery.
3. At over a R1000 a tank, I am thinking of this as an alternative and bicycle pays for itself after 12 tanks.
4. Negative - winter is rough.
5. What about the Cape Doctor? A fanciful wish to be able to decent speed against the wind?

All of those are garbage.

Goedkoop is duurkoop as they say.

For something that won't die within the first month you need to look at around the R50k mark as a starting point.

Something like this:

Not that I'm an expert in anything relating to bicycles, but I would be cautious of Game and Makro mass produced products, the quality just isn't there, have a look at sportsman's they also have electric bikes.
Many cycle pros around here they should be able to guide you in the right direction.

Most e-bikes are regulated to 250 Watts or something pathetic like that for road-legal purposes
And max speed 35km/h

Find a Pakastanian in a cell shop to mod yours to 1000 Watts to do 65km/h

I'm just going to drop this 1minute video here for you to watch, I saw 87km/h on the clock

Oh by the way, forgot to add I often see a guy near work in Paarden Eiland using the bus lane with a bicycle with a motorized engine, and he is zooming past high speed, I guess about 50km/h on his way into town. No helmet, nothing, for about 2 years now

First time I went over 100km/h was down Robbers Pass into pilgrims rest.
However, with a bit of tail wind and a decent group, we reach the 80's on flat roads coming up to a sprint.
That is one sketchy pass.

A trip on the motorbikes one year saw three riders go down in a corner with some loose gravel. One bike and one rider went over the side and into the trees.

Was quite a shocker to witness.

Yeah. I was following a teammate down and I could smell his brake pads burning/overheating through some of the corners.
