Electricity increase above given rate.

10% isn't that bad, mine is going up 43% thanks to City Power Johannesburg

There is supposed to be some form of invitation though, even if it's farsical.

As City Power would tell you, but look the first band is only 11% higher, so that makes it less then 13%.
Also postpaid only got a 13% increase so they'll point at that as well.

Ironically the lowest users in Joburg pay the highest percentage increase, because of the new R200 per month surcharge

excuse me, who runs Eskom and the rest of the country, necessitating these ridiculous price increases? Can't blame the municipality - they pass on the costs.

Unfortunately in this case Eskom didn't add the extra cost, City Power did.

eskom didn't tack on the extra costs only the 13% increase everything else is your municipality.

Looking at this R200 seems like they got so many people on prepaid they lost out on all the ridiculous charges they were making form extra fees and estimate readings etc now trying to get that back.

Actually Eskom was only 9%, 4% is the muncipality.
