Yeah it's ethOS ( automatically appends workername to the username). P2Pool only supports wallet address as username and not the wallet.workername convention which I've had to remove to work with p2pool... it's a downside to that pool software.

I was planning on releasing another pool for a series of lower profile coins with the idea of keeping it separate from ETN using pool software that allows for registration and worker setup, this would allow setting up an email notification system for unexpected downtime to let the miner know he is losing out while he could be mining something else for example.

Thanks all who had a look, I am working towards a new pool that will allow block finds on newly released coins with potential and also lesser known coins with the hope that coins may gain value in the future and be easily mined in the early stages. This will prevent a sense of futility as the current state of a block solved on the current pool is 6 months.

I am looking at software that allows registration (and pool wallets) as opposed to mining directly to your own wallet, this way different coins can be experimented with without the need for a wallet for each and can be sent to an exchange for trade directly.

The ETN pool will stay operational and if all goes well will also be incorporated into the new pool among several other coins (thus mineable from two different pools if it works out that way).

There are simply too many electroneum pools out there, many with low fees and still not gaining hashrate after months so chances are slim to get people over unless something substantial can be presented.

Hi Alwyn, the connection string for most mining software is:

-o stratum+tcp://viralmike.com:3333 -u YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS -p x

But to be honest, I don't suggest mining at the moment as nobody else is (unless we can get more people onboard again). You can connect and check after 30 mins or so what the estimated period is to find a block... (http://www.viralmike.com/etn/)
 
Hi Etienne, me and a few friends are looking for a local mining pool and I just stumbled on your post. What is the current status? Would it make sense to join right now? There are 4 of us.
 
Just going to necro this to see if any fellow Investors have opinion on the price point post it going on larger exchanges as well as when the mobile "mining" (coin drop) comes out...

Hi, sorry, only saw this now. You can give it a try if you have not already, but I doubt it is worth it in terms of period before block is found.

Once traded on another exchange I suspect it will reach $0.2 fairly quickly.

Best would be to create an anon survey where potential contributors can input their estimated hashpower contribution. That way the pool operator as well as contributors can see if it is even feasible because without the pool finding a block in a relatively quick time, contributors are just pissing into the wind.

It would also have to have lower fees than any EU server since the latency to EU hardly affects mining.
 
If anyones still looking for a local pool to mine to we have set one up here : https://www.mineetn.co.za - it' hash rate is still low but hopefully can get a few people on there to help find that first block.
Pool fees @ 0.1% indefinitely and there's a webminer available also.
