You don't even know what "don't care" is until you've had CyberSmart, AfriHost or Axxess as your ISP.
:crylaugh:
Had Afrihost, they useless, but not off for 2 days at a time with the minimum communication.
But agreed, they suck as well.

Propogation is the problem. And moving over to Hetzner so KonsoleH another issue :erm:
@Elitehost, to follow up on this:
Surely changing the IP of the server and doing a mass DNS update for domains on that server would be the simpliest/quickest way to get reseller-sites back online, rather than waiting out the ongoing attacks (which could go on forever)?
If this was done yesterday, all sites on those servers would have been up by yesterday evening and the IPs being attacked could stay blackholed for weeks.
Hence why this might not even be a DDoS attack to begin with...Apart from the fact that you and everyone else would have to wait for DNS propagation, which could take up to 24 hours to go through, if the attacked started attacking domains, then that would be totally pointless as well.

Why?
Cause a Distributed Denyal Of Service only targets IP's and not hostnames?
That should be rephrased to "What if... This is in fact, not a DDoS attack".
Would also want to know what they going to do to stop this from happening again.Looks like everything is working again. Fortunately my email was down, because I just received 50+ emails over the last 2 days from some seriously unhappy clients. Not all of them have my telephone number. Probably would have had a heart attack if I saw those coming in and was unable to do anything about it. Now the question is.. how are Elitehost going to stop this from occurring again. I'm not interested in anything for free, I just want to avoid such serious downtime again. That was ridiculous..

@Elitehost?

No im notThe thread was opened last year over same issue, go figure
Are you not an employee of EH?

Things are not great on rs04 at the moment. Taking forever to load anything.
Very few hosts / servers have a TTL of 10 minutes. But proxy servers and cheap routers generally don't adhere to those TTL's, insteasd they cache stuff for a long time. Change one of your own website's IP's quick, just after you visited the website in your web browser and see how long it takes to get an updateWhat about TTL? If a good TTL of 10-mins is in place, then surely it would be proactive enough?
^^Hows things going now guys. all my sites are reponsive again & up.
@Elitehost when are you sending the brief as to what and why it happend and what are you guys going to do for it not to happen again.
