Elitehost down?

A full report regarding this server downtime will be sent to clients by this afternoon.

Services are extremely slow? Unresponsive? Anyone else?

We've been monitoring the server closely this morning and have not picked up any issue with storage IO performance. Please contact our helpdesk with your domain name so we can check further.

Our websites on elitehost have been hacked. Elitehost are busy restoring. But we are downloading tons of email which seem to be old emails. Has anyone one else been hacked?

I have followed up on this and found your Prestashop based website had version 1.6.0.9 installed. This version is vulnerable to cross-site scripting: https://packetstormsecurity.com/files/130026/Prestashop-1.6.0.9-Cross-Site-Scripting.html

We are busy restoring this account now and will update the ticket further.
 
Stride Mother to be honest I feel this is unacceptable. I understand sometimes all that can go wrong do - but it really feels like there's a lack of planning for this kind of situation on your side.

I'm really considering moving away from you because of this - I can understand a couple of hours down time, even 6 hours but not this long... We're losing business, clients are angry - they don't care why it's not working - also they don't believe that ANY problem can take this long? And I quote "wasn't a scenario like this planned for?"

Sorry dude, I should have made it clear - I don't work for Elitehost. I'm also a customer of theirs. I've just been putting their status updates here for others to see. Trust me, I'm also very bleak. I got off the phone with a client of mine about 30 minutes ago, and yeah, he's taking his business elsewhere, so I'm losing money because of this cockup.

I also really don't know how this could take so long to resolve. As for them flying a part from CPT to Joburg, I don't buy that at all.

Hi I am going to use this as a support channel as elitehost are not responding to emails and you can't phone them :wtf:
I am having major hassles getting and sending email and get 550-verification failed and 550 response 550 relay not permitted!

This was after elitehost switched off the email receiving and sending yesterday because the site was hacked.

I have no problem with this but at least tell your customers what you have done and what they must do to fix it!

Hi Ian, we have responded on the ticket. This was due to issues with the account restore as your account was hacked in 2015. It was hacked due to an outdated Prestashop installation, please note that it is your responsibility to ensure all software installed is kept up-to date as vulnerabilties are patched in the latest versions.

At least I have a response in a few minutes here to a ticket sent 2 hours ago. We are aware about presta shop and were waiting for the backup to download before we updated it.
 
Extremely slow at times? Anyone else?

Hello breacher, we sent an email yesterday regarding the migration of this server. The sync process has been running this week and may result is slightly slower performance as it adds additional load onto the servers storage system. Please email [email protected] for any further questions you may have.
 
Can someone recommend a better host for reseller account? Thinking of moving back to Hetzner who I had no downtime with whatsoever. It's worth paying the extra cash, knowing my sites & email will be up.
 
All emails and sites down AGAIN!

This was a scheduled maintenance window as per the notification sent on 6th July.

The server has been successfully migrated into our cloud infrastructure now and all services are online.

Please take note of the following maintenance window affecting your hosting account:

Start: Saturday 9th July 2016 at 22h00 SAST (GMT+2)
End: Sunday 10th July 2016 at 06h00 SAST (GMT+2)

Cause: Migration onto new hardware infrastructure
Impact: You may experience +- 6 hours downtime during this maintenance window while your server is migrated.
 
Just want to compliment EliteHost - services is much faster/more responsive since the server upgrade. If the uptime is 98% plus - happiness all round! :D
