We currently have a hosting package with Afrihost. the main reason for it is that we will be putting up a site at some point, but we need our domain email right away. Part of our package gives us mail. so I have set up the required mail accounts. However, I can get into each of the accounts through the web mail front end easily enough, but when trying to get into them through outlook, they work and then randomly it goes through an hour or two where nothing happens, cannot send or receive. This is not on our end. All settings are correct and it works fine, yet every now and then we get these patches where we have no mail for a few hours.

My question is, can anyone recommend a decent alternative to Afrihost for our needs. Mainly need domain email but there will be a site in a month or two.

Thanks
Fried

Had a similar issue a few weeks ago causing me to move my domain to WA.
I'm using their R79pm Windows hosting package - no issues to date and HaH (happy as hell?)
One of the reasons was I needed something very local (i.e. hosting done in CPT)
Anyways, I tried Elitehost a while ago (they're also hosting in CPT I think) - not bad, but I needed more.

All my mails are on domains.co.za and it works really lekker.

Is google apps an option ?

Thought of Google apps first, but their pricing is just silly. Will have a look at WA, Elitehost and Domains.co.za. Many thanks
