Hello
I have some problem i dont know if you experiencing the same...Im not some heavy downloader i download music some times some programs from emule...but these days how iBurst integrated their cap it just wont connect or when it connects after fw minutes disconnects and doesnt want to download anything...
Anyone whos useing emule ?What speeds you are getting?

ok let me first say p2p discussions even if related to iburst are now allowed here anymore and this thread will probably be moved, havign said that, p2p is now shaped more than ever and unless you're on the 9GB account do not even attempt to use it. Obviously you can try get around it, SSL, VPN tunels, Proxies but you will not get 100KB or more with either of these. You are now in the position that you either pay for a 9GB accoutn or you don't use p2p at all, its that simple

Why aren't p2p discussions allowed here any more? I didnt see no anouncement stating that.

How stupid is that?So why we have the ^^^^ 3GB limit than?
This is crap....

Well can someone give me some torrents web where i can find some games and music for free?

torrents are dead, I asked ic if i could make a thread yesterday about torrents here to shed light on the situation and show one or two new tricks to get around shaping... I was told no, I have to post in some other forum i've never seen, my attitude is that its iburst only info so it should be allowed here, but no p2p is allowed in this forum anymore :(

dont even bother with torrents, if you are on a awesome swarm you might get 6KB for about 20 seconds every 20 minutes or so, you will connect to 3 seeds if you're lucky.... without the little tricks theres no point in trying them :(

Ok, so if this is the case, how on earth did all you guys rack up the GB so quickly??

In this case what we are all using this connection for?Browsing?email? We can do that even with a 56K modem....
so do u have some solution for downloading anything from net?

That’s rubbish, until I see an announcement about no p2p requests on how to make p2p work with IBrust/ADSL/MyWireless/etc. with justification for it, I see no reason why you can't ask technical questions around if/how to make p2p applications on various connection mediums.

not on iburst, sorry to say, great product but its been caged like a scared animal for the time being, other essential services are also killed off, HTTPS SFTP SSH SPOP3 (basically any secure service) and IRC/MSN/ICQ/AIM

so you can browse, but not do banking, or shopping or check gmail
you can communicate with any other means besides email and forums and you cannot do work anymore if you are required to use SSH or VPN

Ok Slim, but with all those restrictions (Which I assume were there pretty much from launch) how did you guys rack up the GB like you have done??

There are are many ways, Internet TV, FTP,HTTP, Internet Radio, VPN Services the list is endless.

and since i know thats not enough here's what ic wrote

Hiya Slimothy

P2P related discussions should be posted in the Off Topic forum, that's what has been decided.

Antowan, being the mod for the O/T forum wrote this guideline post to indicate the boundaries of such P2P related discussions.

I think it would be advisable to stick to the O/T forum when it comes to P2P & torrents etc, 2 reasons:

1. Threads & posts relating to P2P would probably get moved there anyways by mods - not sure that an app that only allows iBurst IP ranges is iBurst enough to remain in the iBurst forum - debatable though.
2. The mood in the iBurst forum ATM seems to be to lynch-mob anyone that talks about using P2P & torrents etc, that thanks to the WBS propaganda campaign which has clearly divided some iBurster forumites .

Hope that helps .

Regards

Hi Slimothy

Not exactly what I said in p.m. - please re-read ;).

What I did say is that P2P discussions that have little or nothing to do with iBurst should be posted in the Off Topic forum, please refer to [post=190107]Antowan's P2P/torrents posting guidelines...[/post].

If you need more info you can p.m. myself or Antowan ;).

Regards

ic.

but i said the torrent info was iburst specific and you said I should post in the OT forum, not that i'm arguing it

Yeah, I tried Shareaza last night. Dead as a dodo. Clear indication that bandwidth management is finally in place.

As for discussing p2p here? Why not? Especially as it relates to Iburst's bandwidth controls.

p2p is a hotbed of illegal downloads, true, but it is also the most cost effective method for distributing large files, shareware ditros, legal ISO's, databases, etc.

The legality of downloaded content is the responsibility of each individual user, it should not be the concern of WBS.

P2p should be restricted is 64kpbs in the 3Gig package, not disabled completely.

Not impressed.
