eNatis errors

Is anyone here able to advise me on how to query eNatis issues, please?

I've just received an email from the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police that there are two fines against my name in 2022, for a registration number that I changed (read: dropped) years ago. I left Gauteng at the end of 2012 and my vehicles were reregistered in Cape Town not long after that.

Apparently a summons has been issued for one of them.

I have no desire to spend hundreds of Rands sitting on my mobile phone to some idiot on the end of a random line. There must be a better way to resolve this.

They fines are not for me though. I changed that registration in 2016.

"D", perhaps your experiences have been better than mine. Calling Licensing in Gauteng is a lost cause.

Perhaps those "QueueForYou" services can go and sort it out on your behalf? (They are probably cheaper than lawyers - but who knows?)

The exact same thing happened to me. I sent them affidavits, vehicle tracker reports, etc. So in the end they told me to come and prove in court that the vehicle (in the ticket photo) was not mine. So I said f that and paid the R500 fine which was a fraction of the traveling costs to go entertain them.

That is ridiculous and infuriating.

eTolls are no better. I received an eTollie bill last year, allegedly for driving in Jo'burg in 2015! I'd never seen the car in the photo in my life.

I have a similar ticket coincidentally also from Ekhuruleni for a fine in 2022 on a registration number that was re-registered in the Western Cape in 2020.

I just ignore the notices since there is no warrant. Even if they issue a warrant, they can come and serve it on me here in Cape Town.

Received a notice for a car CK52BVGP travelling 169 km/hr on the R21 freeway. Fine is R9000.

I live in Cape Town and have never owned a GP registered car. Looked on PayCity and the notice number does not exist

There is a 087 number for enquiries. The lady told me to present myself at the Kempton Park SAPS. I told her that it is not my car. She said it is my responsibility to tell them who was driving the car. There is no other option

Is the system so broken and poorly managed?
