Post office is quick and easy for me. At least i know i got the thing in my hand (if i remember to put the thing on the Windscreen is another issue). Its the only 2 times i go into the post office :p. Also not ready to trust Enatis Online as yet.

Tried to use it this week after getting an SMS notice that my car license had expired on Monday. It gave me a JDBC error when retrieving the vehicle list so I waited until the afternoon but it still was not fixed. Tried again on Thursday and it worked. I also had an issue with the suburb lookup not working but found that if I typed the complete suburb name in, it worked.

We tried to renew a licence disc through Natis Online — and had to give up

A MyBroadband staff member recently tried to renew their vehicle licence disc through government's official Natis Online (or eNatis) system and gave up due to technical issues.

The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) launched the online platform in February 2022, and seeing as my licence disc expired this month, I thought I'd give it a go — much to my detriment.
I renewed using ChatBack via WhatsApp and didn't have any issues. Try it yourself using the following link from their website: https://start.chatback.co.za/chatback

I tried a couple of times, I managed to get to the payment stage and when I submitted got a message payment unsuccessful. Then I received an email which stated ". Unfortunately, this blocks any transactions at the post office or the Motor Vehicle Registration Authority. " i have sent emails with attachments and received absolutely no response. I phone the contact number 0861 400 800 many times and it just rings. Can anyone help me as according to their email I cannot go anywhere else to do the renewal?

A colleague used the site to renew 3 licenses. He had no issues with the website. Discs arrived via SkyNet couriers today (about 2 weeks after payment).

So i decided to give the e-natis website a try to renew 2 x discs.. two weeks have past,
moneys left my account..
No comms from the site to indicate receipt of payment.
No one answers mails or the phone.
No licenses discs

Not sure what to do now .... anyone now where i can follow up or even check on this.

Kind regards

I went down to the Post Office on Saturday. Was there at 8am when they opened. Was done by 8:10am. And I paid only the fee of the license disc.
Why pay R99 or R200 when all it takes is 10min out of an entire year.
Most post offices are either closed or the printer has been stolen or is broken. Also, you can't do change of ownership.

But fyi, I paid for two discs on Monday, got an sms from Skynet yesterday saying they are on the way, and an sms from them this morning saying they are out for delivery.

See what is says on the webpage. I just logged into my account ( /online services/ renew motor vehicle license ) just now to see if it gave details and it just said that "no motor vehicles are due for licensing". Maybe yours is still showing or if it's not then at least it has been captured somewhere.

The post offices near me that do it are slow. Just applied for mine at the local pick n pay. Cost a bit but to save me an hour at the post office seems worth it for me for now.

You're lucky, my local post office is like a scene from the evacuation of Ho Chi Minh City.

You cannot follow up, but just be patient because mine arrived after 3 to 4 weeks. It's sloooooooow.

You just need the form that gets emailed to you. If you didnt get it then you manually fill it out (I suggest downloading it). Then you pay with your card. I wasn't asked for ID.
