As I age (yes, I age), my workload stays the same and my energy is less. I think this is pretty much par for the course but I refuse.

(Un)fortunately, I don't drink coffee (hate the taste) so that's out. And I suspect that downing 2 or more energy drinks a day is probably a bad idea.

So, how do you maintain enough energy to work during the day, have a family and work into the night?

I'll try and document pretty much anything that I think might work so that anyone like me can benefit.

Go the Eskom route and implement a load shedding schedule

Take a break and recharge for an hour or two during the day. Amazing what a 20 minute cat nap in the car can do.

seks?

This.( Impossible to hate the taste.)

And seks.

According to some article I read online. It seems like you're suffering from chronic fatigue. No worries though It's curable through sleeping 12-14 hours each day. Also exercise 4-8 hours prior to your sleep and drink a large amount of water (Beware of water intoxication though).

Cut out bread for lunch and rather eat something with more protein etc that will give energy for longer. If you eat what your body and activity level require, there is little need for energy drinks and medicines to carry you.

Firstly, :wtf: you don't like the taste of coffee
secondly, when you age, do less micro management and more delegation
third maybe you should concentrate on what food you're eating, maybe add nuts to your diet or oat meal, or throw that out and go banting.

and don't forget, delegate!!!

What works for me is bacon and eggs in the morning. Gets me going for longer.....cliche?

I also don't like the taste of coffee so what is odd about it same with beer and wine?

Wine I understand, but beer and coffee, they're so full of goodness and taste

Hah, I've had this talk with various people and they all say the same thing. Something in me just rebels against coffee taste. It all just tastes like burned. I've really tried - I even test once a year to see if its changed. Have tried everything up to and including imported coffee. Also, don't like the taste of beer or wine (except Weissbier and Rose).

Perhaps something is broken with my tongue :erm:

So to summarise:

1) Seks - well that helps everything :D
2) B-Complex
3) Biostrath
4) More Protein - diet is already pretty solid thanks to Soylent
5) Delegate - everything that can be delegated is :)

No wonder your out of energy, that Soylent is a starch overload with lots of calories. Pickup and crash. There is such thing as good protein and bad protein. Ask Jim Morrison....oh wait, he's dead.

I've tweaked the recipe pretty hectically since I first started. Very different from the original stuff so I'm not concerned on that front.

Poor Jim Morrison.

I also hate coffee, I drink tea as a replacement. Apparently tea has a lot of caffeine.

Try Spirulina, and the biostrath mentioned also helps.

Try get in some excercise. Get up once an hour and take a 2min walk. Gets the blood flowing again.

OP,

I do not drink coffee nor tea. I do not appreciate the taste. But then again I don't like redbull, monster etc either.

I find having bread or any other gluten containing items a big drain of energy.

rather eat other stuff. And eat fruit, some nuts or something like that mid morning to assist with the energy. Almonds are very good for you.
