Engagement ring and/or wedding ring? Custom designs.

ok so , looking into this marriage thing very seriously ! :)
The rings:
When you pop the BIG q, do you whip out the engagement ring? (which as I understand is a single diamond on a band? sometimes with accent stones? normally set in solitaire design)
and then later go and choose another another ring, the wedding ring, for the ceremony ? (which as I understand is the big daddy of rings??)

Or when you pop the question, do you just whip out the one and only ring ?
I don't understand! Where do engagement bands fall into the picture!?
How many? What happens if it doesn't fit when you pop the Q, do you take it back and re-size?

Oh yeah, and heard some good things about making the custom, so anyone know any good people around CPT that does this? Thanks !

Why not shop for the engagement ring together after you pop the question. That way she gets what she wants, and won't end up with something ugly that she has to wear for the duration of your marriage

K then a temporay ring, that can then be melted down and reused for the pretty ring.

Its just that some girls like huge ass diamonds and big garish rings, and others prefer something more discreet.

If you're marrying her, you should have an idea of what she likes ?
 
Normally the engagement ring is bigger, and the wedding ring simple bands. So yes, when you "pop the BIG q", you then present the engagement ring. Our wedding bands were cheaper than the engagement rings, and custom made to fit around the original engagement ring.

Buy a ring that's slightly too big, and then take it to a jeweler to resize - or find one of her (assuming you marrying a woman) rings and use that as a template....
