I was at a office block earlier that had 4 of these things installed. The IT was showing me the setup screen on Chrome of one of the units.

He had the one set to an access point and the other three to repeater. (all on one SSID though)

Is that right? I mean doesn't it make sense to have them all set to access point mode considering they all had a cable going back to the router?

I'm confused
 
It's been years since I last used an EnGenius product..


If each AP is connected with a cable to the router then you can set them all up as an Access Point (using the same SSID, security & passphrase).
However, this might cause a client to be disconnected from one AP and connected to the next AP when the client walks the entire network WHILE on a VOIP call. (the call will be disconnected)


Maybe that's why the units are configured in repeater mode.?

I'm not sure.
