Enough! I've had it with potheads...

She should only smoke it up once her priorities are out of the way, even if the only time she can is in the evening.
If not, you and her are going to have a bad time. Loss of productivity/motivation is imminent if she is smoking at every chance she gets.

No i think she has a problem and I don't think she'll change just because you asked her to.

My cousin "blazes" every day. but ONLY AFTER his day is finished and ONLY 1 joint. Sometimes he doesn't even do it depending on what kind of work deadlines there are, and he'll "reward" himself with a couple over the weekend if he completes whatever commitments he had before.

He was also a "blaze up before doing anything" type. But he got it sorted, works on it as a reward system and doesn't touch anything else, including alcohol. Not a single drop.

If she can't stop, there's something else wrong. Either GTFO or try and change her

Good stuff. +1 on the bold.

Raptor, my only problem with this post is your support, and then abhorrent hatred of the subject matter -
If legalised, then lighting up before work wouldn't be a problem any more than a cup of coffee.

If substance abuse affects your work, you can be sure as hell that it would be more of a problem than a cup of coffee. Booze are legal too, but if I arrive sloshed at work I'd be in deep ****.

Sounds to me like she has a problem. IMHO you have one of two choices, ask (not force) her to get some help or bail. The problem I see with you bailing is that you might be in a position to help her. Many people smoke grass, many can control the habit, but when the habit starts controlling you its time to get help.

Yeah I know man.
I just have so many things on my plate (new project at work is killing me) that I can't help but feel it someone doesn't have the balls/intelligence/motivation to sort themselves out over something as relatively minor as this it's a personality trait which I despise.

And no, she doesn't have some deeper psychological issues to deal with or whatever. She's just a normal person with no background horrors or whatever.

Yeah but some people can handle it while others look at ummm self medicating :p

Exactly. And I'm not pointing fingers here since I'm way too find of drinking regularly...
but again, making the choice to do this before going to work when you're only just starting out, you're 26 and still dependent on your daddy's handouts is pathetic.

Also: What I didn't mention was that she used to be "hooked" on doing Cat. I got her off that **** almost as soon as I met her. So yeah, I've just had enough now. Time to grow up methinks.

Not judging you at all, this is a terrible situation to be in. Some people cant even get themselves to stop smoking (cigarettes) or even to break silly habits like chewing their nails. People differ. Maybe alert a sibling or family member that she is close to about her problem.

Maybe get some info on how you can help and then decide what to do.

Well just talk to her about it and say that smoking before work is silly and that you are worried about her. Just don't get in her face about it.

Again [IMO] could be completely wrong - your issues don't stem only from weed but rather several issues surrounding your relationship.

Actually it would not be like having a cup of coffee before work, it would be like having tequila before work. Not OK
