Entry level RPG for GF

Fable 1 : The lost chapters is an amazing RPG, learning curve is easy and story is great.

Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 were my absolute favourites before the witcher 3 stole that title.

Dungeon crawlers like Torchlight 2 is pretty decent too.

Was definitely one of the better ones. We used to have weekend long 4 player LAN's with this, CS and Act of War.

I visited my sister last desember, played Titans quest with her and my brother in-law and they both pickup the game fast.

I know you said no mmo's but give Star Wars the old republic a chance. Great story lines for each of the classes. Bounty hunter rocks :)

I like playing "where does this go?"

It is free to play, unless you are ugly.

My wife loves the Fable games. She played all three but won't touch other rpgs. I didn't particularly like the Fable games though.

Baldurs Gate style rpg is not everyone. I remember i got bored with Baldurs Gate because one guy on the LAN would usualy do the talking and if you didn't keep track you'd not get immersed in the game and then it turns into a grind fest. Single Player the series was fantastic

I think Borderlands as suggested above is a good middle ground, nice flowing gameplay and it's easy for everyone to keep track of what's going on with the voice acting. It even has a official girlfriend class in the mechromancer xD

Also
+1 for Torchlight and Grim Dawn.
Baldurs gate... I think my one and only encounter with that game was the second one. I could never get past the very first little bat you run into in the game. I ended up rage quitting after an hour of trying and never went back. I felt like such a noob.

Sword Coast Legends is due shortly. Keep an eye out for that.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is an MMO but you can try joining a PVE server and just Co-op the campaign storylines together, I did that with my gf, different classes but we helped each other through with many characters. We sunk many hours into that . There are some very good stories in this.

We also played a lot of Diablo3, but not so much of a storyline to that.

As far as I know you can also co-op Neverwinter Nights 2
