Epic Chinese Android phone

WTF :mad: SARS want to charge me R425.05 for an imported cellphone worth $187. How can this be?? :mad:
 
Ordered the new jiayu g2s. It's similar to the g2. Only thinner and a QHD display and touch buttons. They had stock of the black only at the moment and said that If I wanted the white I should wait 10 more days. So gonna wait the 10 days. Will update once I get it as well.
Bought the huawei ascend p1 as well but tired of that now so will most probably sell it.

You sound just like me now.... I buy all these phones then use them a bit and sell them. I also have the huawei P1. Think I'm going to stay with it for a while after I saw the price tag on in on these chinese sites. Damn its actually expensive overseas.
 
I get tired of my phones very fast. So what I do now is keep one phone as my permanent phone. And keep a second phone that I keep changing just to mess around with.
 
Any thoughts on the THL W5 ? Looks like a good phone! And can someone who bought a phone recently just tell me how much the duties are? Don't want to go through all the trouble and get surprised with R400 on duties!
 
Where can I buy these cheap 7'inch Chinese Tabs in SA? I don't want to go through the process of customs and 8 Week delivery again.:(

Acer Liquid Gallant Duo is also a dual sim phone, has 1ghz with 1gb ram , 5mp with flash . 960 x 540 res screen & the only downside the 1500mah battery, goes for about R2800, its slimmer than a G3 but obviously doesnt come close to the specs. The only concern i have about the chinese tablets & phones the SAR values, you cant find it anywhere.

I imported a PS3 remote awhile back and it was delivered straight to my doorstep. No customs holdup or chargers. why?

Imported a Cheap 7 inch android .. Was charges 14% of R684 + R15 Handling fee. I feel your pain
Maybe I was lucky. (2 weeks back)
 
So, the NEW hawtness for which to lust and pine: the Jiayu S1:

Still with the dual-SIM goodness but up into the 5" phablet class with full HD glass ..and now a Qualcomm APQ8064 Quad-Core/Adreno 320 duo doing the heavy lifting. Ooohh, and they're joining in on A/G wlan too. Hubba hubba, baby.
 
I linked that site as it had the best layout for specs but if you dig around you'll see around the $310 mark, give or take. And yes, it's a pity about the rounded corners.. :rolleyes: Meanwhile, consider this comparison. And, of course, the Itoy just can't compete here anyway.
