like 5 minutes ago i was downloading a file to my "D" hard drive. then i got an error message saying that it doesnt exist halfway through.

if you go to my computer "D" is not there anymore....
this happaned earlier today but i "fixed" it buy rebooting.

i rebooted several times, but its still not there....

could this be a virus? how do i fix this problem ie. when there is no "D" to scan...

Right-click on My Computer -> Manage -> Disk Management

Do you see the drive there?

Actually, WiseCrack said it much better than I could :D

i only see "C"

At the top or at the bottom of the screen? The top only shows the formatted partitions that have drive letters assigned to them, whilst the bottom shows everything, even unformatted, unallocated disk space (with a nice graphical representation, though)...

also i was lanning with my friend

before i connected both pc's i ran an anti-virus (becase of past events)
i found 50 different kinds of viruses and 3000 infected files

i noticed one of his hard drives was just gone all of a sudden then came back after rebooting

there is no "D" whatsoever:confused:

Download GetDataBack, find a serial key for it somewhere and see if it can save the data. If not then your data is fvcked.

A virus is possible, if not likely...

Scan C:\ with any anti-virus scanner such as AVG Free and, if you are lucky, you will be able to find out which virus is affecting your PC...

already did that..... nothing.....

i only shared my "D" with my friend

if it is a virus why would it affect me 2 days later?

I've had a virus pop up a message box that says "MOO!" after my PC was left on for longer than 2 days so I wouldn't be surprised by anything a virus does :D

Never did find out what virus it was, though... Only seemed to say "MOO!" and do nothing else... :D
