Do you have a spare PC? If you do, hook it up to that PC and see if it detects it. And make sure your BIOS detects your drive before you go poking around

Download Magic Recovery Professional or something and you should be able to get the data back even if you can't see the drive right now. It's possible to recover data even if the partition was deleted or formated.

He can't use www.serials.ws cause that would be illegal and we do not condone the use of illegal software on this forum.

Last time windows started tuning me **** about my drive being unformatted I got all my data back.

inside the PC the power cable to my "D" drive was disconnected ( no idea why)
its all fixed now and i'm running the anti-virus just in case

Aai, boramk... I assumed you'd checked that in any case. But you would've seen it in the BIOS as well

It's most probably just a loose molex or IDE connector. Take em both out and put em back in just to be 100% sure that they aren't causing the problems.

If the problem persists, unplug the CD/DVD drive totally and then boot the PC. Is the drive back?

boramk: Glad to hear about power cable. Losing 100+gigs data is not particularly fun. Maybe do an online virus scan at Kaspersky. Those 3000 infected files sound a bit scary.
