Eskom’s big Koeberg problem

Let's just say some parts arrived from France and did not fit.
Kind of like the trains
I thought the turbines came from China after Westinghouse got kicked out?

You're kidding right?

How much coal do you think a power station goes through in a single day?
I know there is a big difference, but I think emissions are measured for Eskom only. So maybe LS is not even hitting emission targets. I remember flying over CPT on a wind still day during a long LS session and saw the air pollution to be really bad.

I'm guessing Koeberg is staying offline until 2024, no? That will hurt the ANC voter count.

Let's vote out these goons next election please?

It's worse:
Koeberg’s operating licence expires in July 2024, after which it must close unless the plant has been refurbished and relicensed.

I know there is a big difference
That's an incredible understatement.

That's a very scientific approach you've got there.

Also what do you mean "during a long LS session"? You realise the entire city isn't being simultaneously cut right?

I am not claiming anything scientific. It was during stage 6, the air seemed really dirty. I think Eskom is getting some emissions leeway because generators are not taken into account.

I think you'll find generators are largely insignificant when compared to even motor vehicle emissions, let alone the emissions of power stations consuming multiple kilotons of coal per day.

The idea that they're even remotely comparable is just... wow.

I think there is nothing that can fix Eskom. Coalition politics and even pure DA will not be able to.
Only when race is removed and when a black man can take instruction from a white man without getting offended because no whitey is allowed to tell him anything anymore since apartheid ended is when eskom can be fixed.

Cape Town always looks like that when the wind is not blowing. Nothing to do with LS, more to do with people using fires on the Cape Flats, which lies in a geographical depression, for cooking and heat. That is why the South Easter is called the Cape Doctor, as it blows all that away

Kgosiento is working. As is the rest of the Leaders of the New Dawn

More like - lets just say Eskom was supposed to prep, and didn't. We got utterly hosed on that too financially.

French got here, were a bit shocked that nothing was ready. We ended up paying them a large multiple of million's USD for breach of contract.

R950 million + R650 million and counting. Or R1.6billion rands of taxpayer money pissed away.

Yes, you should be unfuckinghappy.

There is also the DOE ****up - where we pissed off the American's, so no haz fuel to refuel.

2024 lots of chickens coming home to roost with regards to Koeberg. i'm telling you...
