Took the guy long enough to figure out whats good for him!
The only thing he will miss is that paycheque im sure

Rest assured this is not a case of the powers that be doing the honourable thing.

Mark my words - he will be moving to a more prestigious position with better opportunities for less work and greater embezzlement.

His golden handshake will cost us a fortune.

given he has joined Anglo Platinum doubt that bit. And also given he quit it is likely he will have to forgoe awarded bonuses and the like from Eskom.

So he is only leaving in six months or so, after bonus time. :D

In most companies they don't pay the bonus in full right away. In that way you can be awarded a bonus and only get a fraction of it if you leave before a stipulated period.

Maybe being one of the most hated people in SA was too much for him?

More than likely played a role. I have spoken to a few Eskom employees and they say it is one of the things they find hard to deal with now. One dude said his son came to him and told him that at school Eskom employees are useless, so he is useless. Ouch...

Eish. Sad thing is that those lower level employees especially the engineers are still highly qualified and hard working. Its those upper management f**kers who have cause this whole problem and the entire company needs to take the brunt. But thats unfortunately just he way it is: look at Enron and Athur Andersen. Management f**ked up and all the employees had to pay.

It's all about the politics :( the hard workers do the heavy lifting while lazy f*c*s like him play the company like snakes and ladders
