Either way, no surprise about Eskom, I've watched SITA turn onto a toxic workplace too, I mean it always used to be but nowadays you have managerial type who leaves a simple yes/no email unanswered for 3 weeks because he's too scared to make a wrong decision that'll have him fired on the spot. No-one is hired on merit it's all patronage, meaning you fall out of favor you find other work.

I am not sure I follow. Employing previously disadvantaged artisans who do not have a sense of urgency and go at snail's pace is why EE is justified in a scenario where the entire country as well as the economy are affected further plunging as down the abyss and increasing unemployment ? Translating as more suffering of mostly the previously disadvantaged...

I my view the best thing that can happen now is for the government to chop up and privatize Eskom on condition
1) Government takes x % of the debt
2) Set a price cap on electricity increases (like today)
3) Allow who every takes control to retrench as much as needed
4) Lift EE & BEE restriction

Getting black people in is not what killed Eskom, what killed Eskom is corruption, perpetrated by people of all races.

So who should we get to train artisans if they become like that after being trained by white artisans?

You cannot "train" work ethics or morals. Only skills....

What people do/don't do with those skills, are out of the trainer's control.

It is not just corruption that destoyed ESKOM...then everything would still be in working order...there would just not be any money to run it.

Mismanagement and the fact that warnings of capacity issues were summarily ignored 29 years ago...therein lies the crux of the matter.
