This is clearly an article written by a white person, who would dramatise this scenario and talk about an "exodus of the skilled"... why is it that the whites are the skilled engineers, artisans and suppliers... surely according to you the blacks are not qualified, if they are then it's cadre deployment. Were not all the skilled white people also cadre deployed by the white apartheid government? This article is really sickening and just shows how white people are just not willing to be equal citizens with the rest of us. They want privileges in order to be "retained". Unfortunately, as Africans we don't have the luxury of mobility to Europe like our fellow white citizens, so in the workplace, we have to put up with whatever is dealt with us, because we can't just "go". Black staff must always hear budget cuts and all kinds of nonsense when working with white people, and now we must cry that they are leaving. Let them go! We will train ourselves if need be

There are galaxies beyond the observable universe which you and I will never see proof of, yet we understand why. If you have been living in the country for the past 15 or so years, you'd understand the magnitude of corruption at Eskom thus, 6 figure salaries reducing to 5 figures isn't beyond the realms of possibility.

In other words, if one was able to make excessive claims for stuff without proof being required and now the taps have been throttled, one's salary is going to be affected adversely.

But don't take my word for it.

I think you okes that are for BEE are missing the point. The point is people who aren't good enough are getting into positions they not supposed to be because of these policies. They are black because that's what the policy allows. There is no way to sugar coat it. It is what it is.

This how you get school teachers in charge of police and military.

As I said before if standards were kept the same and black people went through the exact same selection criteria and weren't advantaged by law. You wouldnt have these problems.

It does not imply that black people are stupid but stupid people are getting qualified and unfortunately BEE and quota allows those people to get into positions.

And for some strange reason this fact triggers people ... very strange and yes it's a fact whether you like it or not.

Eskom is extremely top heavy, and have way to many engineers sitting around doing nothing.

They have been leaving for the last 20 years, and they are still leaving. There's no end in sight, one would think it is an endless supply.

Sorry to break it to you but people have been getting into positions they are not qualified for long before AA, many unqualified white people in companies strutting about with massive amounts of self importance but nothing to show for it in terms of qualifications.

That's what apartheid was there for, upgrading clueless white people into positions they would not get under normal circumstances, some took advantage of their good fortune and improved themselves to be very good at their jobs, some just sat back and relaxed, enjoying all the perks of the jobs they got merely for being the right colour at the right time.

So there's absolutely no point being missed, just a couple of racists showing us why AA is more important than it has ever been.
