So you are telling me that this will end loadshedding? Hmmmmm but you said a few months back that loadshedding has ended for the winter? Remember that?

There was a good point made by one of the speakers at the NERSA hearing today who asked why a company which declares a profit needs to request a bailout - surely then it is not profitable and the auditors need to be investigated. The majority of submissions seemed to be against ESKOM receiving any form of increase. Cosatu's submission was particularly straight forward and quite blunt and the FFP+'s quote that "winter is coming" was a good moment.

They have more than enough money, they have to increase their efficiencies (to use corporate CEO speak, understand now Mr Molefe?), not their tariffs.

Ag ... let them hike the tariffs.
Our economy is stuffed anyway and I need the extra incentive to go off-grid.

More evidence the ANC do not have one single competent leader to do absolutely any good at all.
They are all the bloody same

I'm sure the diesel distributers now have a whole lot of new BEE shareholders.
They actually don't want to fix this problem. Its bad for their share price.

Just another way that the ANC rewards incompetance

Aren't they paying more than double for diesel form their [-]brothers/sisters/uncles/aunties[/-] BEE suppliers? No wonder loadshedding is so expensive..

And to think people were discussing on this forum how he would be the saviour of Eskom, he's just as dumb as the rest. And suddenly that total blackout seems way more likely than before.

As long as eskom has an anc attitude of "it's right because we say so" they will get no sympathy.

When teskom can show that they have audited their suppliers prices, have applied their minds to the alternatives being suggested, cut their senior's salaries by 60% until the company is running, got their shareholders to pay back the dividends which were in fact running costs and salaries which were culled from their books they may have a legitimate request for increases.
