Who needs industry. They can **** off back to europe. You can't run industry on solar, gentlemen.
That's the hard lesson the European industrial sector learned with renewables. Especially the Germans.Who needs industry. They can **** off back to europe.
True, but so much of industry has gone bust, and many others left the country! You can't run industry on solar, gentlemen.

I am all for private solar, but it isn't really the same . I have a 7kW system on my roof, but I don't get close to that currently. My peak is currently less than half of that and it only for a very short time.5400 MW, one Kusile type power station. That's only because you haven't orientated them properly. You should easily be able to reach peak power especially in winter when they are cooler.I am all for private solar, but it isn't really the same . I have 4 panels that isn't optimally placed yes, but that is how my roof is. On the other part, I saw that you live in the KZN so you probably have summer rain fall. In the Western Cape it is quite cloudy during the winter which means I produce less in winter than in summer, from my stats so far in anycase. The point I was trying to make is that the 5400MW for solar isn't equivalent to 4800MW for Kusile as one can produce constantly and the other when the resource is available. That's only because you haven't orientated them properly. Listen here deputy...
I wonder how much MWh storage there is in this 5400MW private PV number floating about?Listen here deputy...
Probably a third of thatI wonder how much MWh storage there is in this 5400MW private PV number floating about?
I concur as the Deputy of the Axpert. Now that batteries prices are dropping like a stone, expect that figure to explode now with the constant price increases.Probably a third of that
Should've gone for tripleI concur as the Deputy of the Axpert. Now that batteries prices are dropping like a stone, expect that figure to explode now with the constant price increases.
Take your setup as an example, you have double the Wh.
Looks like 5kWh is about R15k now. In China it costs probably half.Should've gone for triplewhen I could afford it.
I've not as yet seen thatLooks like 5kWh is about R15k now. In China it costs probably half.
Have you seen CATLs new zero degradation grid storage battery?
I've not as yet seen that![]()
