Political interference in Eskom has really done a number on the parastatal.
I'm glad I went with the alternative, and invested in my own power.
The competition for Eskom is in self provision. Solar makes sense for household use, and is rapidly approaching the point where Eskom is more expensive per KW than your own investment is, even including storage.
The complete mismanagement of the economy and subsequent depreciation of the rand has made it a tight race though. If we were sitting at R6 to the dollar it would be a no-brainer.
We have no postal service, no airline, no electricity, no police, and a government with no competence.
