Thuthuka down 500MW.
I think its fair to say they are all actors
... **** give us the worst case scenario already so that we can apply it appropriately to our schedules. Time to fetch my stone age tools.
The maintenance takes longer than a day or two25% capacity offline!
Again, why not schedule maintenance on the weekends and mandate load shedding then? Keep the work week productive.

That is a direct rip-off of a joke made by Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear in 2008:

I think we should organise a protest march against illegal connections. Why should we who pay suffer whilst these thieves blatantly steal?
Not the thieves, but rather the police who blatantly loot.
Do you really think anyone will hear you, nevermind do something about it?
ROFL
This was funniest comment today. Thanks ellally
Eskom has reached the point where the gap between the minimum baseload of 25 000MW (at 3am) and the amount of available generation over weekends (27 000MW), including Open Cycle Gas (Diesel) Turbines, is so small that they can't even pump water during the weekend nights anymore. It is a frightening situation.
Palmiet is 400MW
Drakensburg is 1000MW
Total 1400MW.
If they are pumping, then 27000MW - 1400MW = 25600MW. That's 600MW above minimum baseload.
They basically have zero extra power to even perform additional maintenance like they said they need to do.
