Stage 1,2 and 3 we're supposed to be off 18-22.30 tonight and same as last night we've still got. Not complaining but who the hell knows...

In the end was of for only 30 mins but local telkom exchange seem to have been of longer as couldn't get anything to work even though line was synching.

Well, power just went off at 20h01. Gonna watch Top Gear S22e02 on my tablet. Cheers.

Yep, the inverter emailed me to say grid power is down:

The utility is down

Battery Voltage: 51.4

I s'pose shedding started as expected, at 20h00. Just checked outside and the neighborhood is in darkness.

(Sorry to rub it in. No gloat intended. :))

I suspected shedding had ended at 10-ish because the neighbours' gennies went quiet.

Then this email arrived from the inverter:

(3163) Arthur Xxxxxxxxx - Utility has recovered - Notification

The utility has recovered

Battery Voltage: 53.2

Will have to investigate how battery voltage went UP despite two hours of no grid.

Certainly not eskom

Everyone around us was off, just 2 streets that still had. Think after all my bleating and moaning after 2 cuts a week last year they decided against it.

OR the new cables they ran have us feeding from somewhere different and important so we don't get switched off.

Now try an equate the above chaos to industry,,,, not just us mere mortals trying to cook supper, watch telly and such.

I'm still off, scheduled from 6pm-2am even though I was just notified that loadshedding is done for now, looks like I need to somehow get some sleep.

Properties near Megatwatt Park prices must be soaring, they will hardly cut their own power. Soweto, business as usual I gather.
