Eskom will implement Stage 2 load-shedding again on Thursday evening

I actually believe it is more simple than that.

Grants, they know that should another party take over, its very likely all the welfare benefits will be stopped or severely curtailed. Even state workers (incl. SOC, Public Entities etc) would be afraid if a new governing party take over as it means that retrenchments can be considered as a means to curtailed wasteful expenditure.
That’s also true.

Group 16 in pta always getting shedded 18:00-20:30. Every time. Eskom too useless to rotate

On the plus side I just caught a guy in the act of stealing the cables out of a lamppost at the corner of our estate. Security arrived just after me and donnered him proper. We're waiting for saps now.

Oh well day two of no power.
We've had an outage every day this week from the afternoon until early am. Then today it went out at 3am because of cable theft, and expecting a long outage. Pics shared by the councillor suggests they knew exactly where to dig so they're suspecting an inside job...

It looks like cable theft is now skyrocketing. Soon the grid will be like the railway tracks.

They should remove the suspected from these reports by now.
On Thursday, City Power confirmed the arrest of one person, employed by a contractor working at the Eldorado Park sub-station, for cable theft.
