Can they stop with the ads.
Yes they can. From the article
  • Launching in-app purchases to remove ads.
A better interface rather than listing all the stages with all their times and highlighting which one is active would be to have a drop down at the top of the screen to select your area, then it shows you a timeline going vertically for just today, and where your area is going to have load shedding they put in a coloured block and some text that says "Stage 4" or whatever. Like an event in a daily calendar. You then swipe left/right to move between days. A "Stage 4" block is only shown if there is a planned Stage 4 for that day at that time.

So I use Load Shedding Notifier for the schedules and EskomSePush for the notifications. A lot of redundancy but I just use each for what they're better at. Now if someone was to come out with something that combines the best of both, they may very well get me to pay for an app, something I rarely do.

What is the update, that schedules change randomly as in real life?

I found people using it to sell stuff, from chicken wings to cakes, mobile hairdressers, people looking for transportation. A lot of random stuff. Wonder how much business they get.
Side hustle never sleeps my friend. If you find a platform to advertise your little business, go for it.

Cost of Removing Ads... These developers got a crazy sense of humor, from the name off the app to the price of using it like a VIP. They got jokes...

Just be glad they're not abusing their push notification permission to feed you ads
Until a better more efficient app with more features and functions AND is ad free, comes to light, then it might start...

Yeah, to me this proposal would work better. The amount of information is too much, it especially confuses old people.

When you open the app, see what time your power will be off for the next few days. That's it. Very few people are actually interested in the details of the stages and stage change schedule and all the possible times in the different stages.

Just show how it will play out based on the current info available.

Have a detailed view button which will show everything it shows at the moment for those who require more, but open with a default simple view, and if you only have one suburb loaded, open it by default.
