So I get a phonecall this morning from Esquire, related to a TV I sent in to be swopped out seeing as it has been ghosting ( Snowy coloured distortion ) even if it's just turned on and not connected to any signals

Glad to finally hear back seeing as I dropped it off a week and a half ago I ask whether it was swopped out. She responds no - the supplier says the TV was opened. Why in the name of gigantosaurus rex would I open up a Television, let alone one with a warranty? By now i'm still quite calm about this,I state i've never opened said Television. She replies just come collect it and sort it out there

Why should I drive to Midrand to tell them exactly what I said now? I already phoned to complain and i've PMed Esquire now

I've heard horror stories about their Support and Warranties but didn't pay it much heed as i've never had any equipment fail till now

*Edit - updating as I hear anything from them

*Edit2 -
Got call now but quality was terribad first time

Phoned again though, lovely lady said she spoke to the suppliers who said the TV was definitely received "opened" at their side. She spoke to her manager too and promised me they will be doing the swapout themselves, stock from PE should be here next week,so thats positive

Still wondering what's the story with it being opened

Hope I dont have a similar problem, I have a TV i need to return with a faulty PSU (Picture does not always turn on from standby, only sound).

I wonder if they reboxed a faulty unit and sold it to you? Why else would they say it has been opened? Maybe it was a return they swaped and resold.

Box was sealed, but anything is possible I guess. Shall see what happens now

why don't you wait for esquire to respond to pm first?

I'm not posting here as a last resort,i'm just checking for similar experiences. As and when they contact me I will update here accordingly

Well have have to return a mouse because it falling apart. Only 4 months old. Its a Aero strike. Hope i dont have an issue returning it for a swop out. I must say this is the first time i have had anything go faulty from Esquire.

Cant wait to hear the follow up from your issue

Had a phonecall promising to look into it,now we wait,no PM response as of yet

I am not sure why you have this thread going before you have given Esquire a chance to look into this, not cool in my books. (and yeh I read what you said, just checking other people, yeh, fine)

If he had come back and said he can't help, you, fine, the thread makes sense.

BTW obviously you haven't opened a TV, who the **** opens a TV, especially one under warranty?

I am taking my wireless mini keyboard back on Sat for warranty swap. I was afraid of something like this.

Valid point, however I'm posting as the experience unfolds, nobody said threads are a last resort only. In fact good or bad the process itself will be a reference point for others

Indeed, that's the response I got though so we shall see :)

Legitimate thread imo

Cool, I just think before saying Esquire warranties are **** to give Esquire a chance to investigate. You often see threads like this and the issue gets sorted out and no threads saying shot, TY, awesome Esquire - the only person who does that is marine1 on occasion.

Just my 2c on the issue, hopefully for his sake they do honor the warranty cause as I said, nobody got time to open a frikken TV.

Heh yeah understandable,I have every intention of saying thanks or raging dependant on how it plays out exactly because of others just quieting down ;)
